HOW TO GROW YOUR FAITH IN CHRIST

Growing as a believer

A miracle begins with you, the step you take through faith initiates the process of victory never the obstacles that reechoes you are incapable and limited. Phebe Kekeli Dewodo

According to the bible, faith in Hebrews 11:1 – 2, is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good testimony.

Faith wasn’t explained as the evidence of things seen, so why then do you fuss about the things you see when you can create your world through your words buttressed by faith.

Did God not see darkness covering the earth yet called out light and there came light?

Launch out your faith as a believer.

Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus, just to take Him at His word, just to rest upon His promise as the song writer says looks like a pretty simple phrase yet clearly cuts out when we rest on God, God works.

Instead of listening to the foul voices that questions you of your expectation, rebuke it and triumph over it with your declarations and imaginations, for life and death lies on the tongue, the choice lies with you.                                                                              ‘’Thou shall decree a thing and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways.’’ Job 22:28

In 1 John 5: 4 we are given power as we are informed because knowledge is power ‘’for whatsoever is born of God overcomes the world: and this is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith.”

You are a master of circumstances, don’t wait for them to break you down, make them powerless as the overcomer you are made through your confessions and declarations.

Faith is imperative if you opt to please God, especially to prioritize Him.                                                                                                               How do you please or prioritize someone you don’t trust?

For as much as we believe, there is an able God we call on who although cannot be seen, He cannot be denied because all His promises are yes and amen. “Then said the Lord unto me, thou has well seen: for I will hasten my word to perform it” Jeremiah 1:12

“For we walk by faith, not by sight” [2 Corinthians 5:7] if you walk by sight, what you see and hear, trust me your faith will never grow. You can’t see a miracle unless it’s divine. You will be broken into pieces if you allow physical things distract you as you give it mandate to decide for you. Be a supernatural being as believer, see things in the supernatural view for the natural sight will fail you.

In building up your faith as a believer, you need to provide answers to these questions?

What you look unto gives you power over your challenges.

“Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith” [Hebrews 12:1- 2]

What if you looking unto your job yet, you loss it or turn to have challenges with your job? What if the parents you looking unto passes on abruptly? Abandon you or fail to fulfil their promises?

Your job, wealth, relatives may fail you but our God never fails and never dies. Luke 1:37, “For no word from God will ever fail” It will tarry but will be established.

What is your need? Philippians 4:19 “And my God shall supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.”

Psalm 23:1 The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.

Would you testify, when all hope is lost, God shows up by making a way for you? The silent prayer we make off head God listens and sends His angels in human forms to assist us.

Our God knows our needs and wants already, we need to act on the word of God. For He said he watches over His word to perform.

In Matthew 6:26, 31 “Behold the fowls of the air, for they sow not, neither do they reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly father feeds them. Are ye not much better than they? 31 Therefore take no thought saying, what shall we eat? What shall we drink? Or what shall we be clothed?

In as much as you looking unto God, He will never fail you. Challenges will come to keep you off track, just keep your focus on God. Remain steadfast and do not fall into temptation. Don’t be like Peter when he was on the water.

Matthew 14:28 to 29 “And Peter answered Him and said, Lord, if thou bid me come unto the water. And He said, come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and began to sink, he cried saying Lord save.  Look unto God not the situation, look beyond the need and the problem.

You become more faithful when you are aware of who you are pleasing.

Imagine you strike a deal with someone and you both remain faithful, truthful after years, you will definitely believe him/her by pleasing him/her because there have been no breach of contract nor breech of confidence.

In Hebrews 11 we read, “Without faith it’s impossible please to God”. Can someone give you ears when you seem not to please them? Well our God isn’t like that. Matthew 5: tells us He allows the sun to shine on both the wicked and the good.

Although you not pleasing him might not cause him to maltreat you, it’s worth pleasing the God of all flesh. Please don’t please your job, your parents, your boss rather God.

He remain sweet to us, whether or not we go astray. As far as we realize it and ask for forgiveness He’s faithful and just to forgive us. (1 John 1:9)

Our God is able. He healed the broken hearted, healed the sick, raised the death, walked upon the sea, made a way in the red sea.

Ephesians 3:20 “Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask for or think, according to the power that is at work in us.”

He is so capable of doing all things. Don’t be tempted to give up on Him or be made debilitated, even the impossible things He does it and should be your all in all confidant. In 1 Corinthians 2:9 “But as it is written, eye has not seen, nor ears heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for them that love Him.”

God is preparing you for something great, something spectacular, and something out of the norm that will glorify His name. For He uses the foolish things to show forth His glory.

OUR GOD IS CAPABLE, GIVE HIM YOUR FAITH, YOUR ALL.

After answering the above questions, it is consequential to exercise your faith.

It is so needful of us to exercise our faith as Christians as much as we adhere to the above nuggets. Without exercising our faith our efforts of having faith in God proves futile.  In James 2:17 “Faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action is dead”.

This means when we make some declarations through faith, we need to act on the declarations or the things we hope for, to possess.

We make preparations to get ready for what we expecting to see, hear, feel etc.

I remember as a model I was expecting to be on a project, a project the director informed me in a late hour as a result of the delay of the casted model.

She after a while, told me to hold on because where I was coming from was far and might delay the project.

The truth be told, I made preparations and was expecting a call, right after sometime, she called back and asked me to set off.

God been so wonderful, the role I played and what I was paid wasn’t what I was called for.

Obviously God was pleased by my faith by giving me extra bonus. This sounds funny, but that’s how our God works.

He shows up on time, sometimes through people I never thought would help. Our God is never early or too late in rescuing us. Hope you remember how he rescued Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego

Daniel 3:18, how about Daniel in the lion’s den?
