GIS Issues High Alert Over Boko Haram Jail Break

 

In the notice Comptroller-General of the Ghana Immigration Service and signed by his Deputy, Laud Ofori Affrifah indicated that there are possibilities that some of the escapees will want to enter Ghana.

“It is believed that the Jihadist group Boko Haram are behind the attack which saw the use of high end explosives and guns that freed all 64 Boko Haram linked inmates at the prison and are among the escapees who are still on the run.

 

In the notice Comptroller-General of the Ghana Immigration Service and signed by his Deputy, Laud Ofori Affrifah indicated that there are possibilities that some of the escapees will want to enter Ghana.

However, media reports suggest that the group has freed all 64 inmates who are associated with the extremist group.

It also said that 443 out of 879 inmates escaped.

The Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) has issued a high alert to its regional and sector commanders over the recent Boko Haram jailbreak in Nigeria.

The move comes on the back of a jailbreak on Wednesday, July 6 at the Kuje Maximum Security Prison in Abuja.
