Fix The Country

The #FixTheCountry protest witnessed hundreds of protestors trooping in to partake in the much anticipated street protest begun in the morning of Wednesday, 4 August, 2021 against the claim of the poor handling of social and economic situations in the country by the government. The protest is to pile up pressure on the government to address Ghana’s numerous challenges, including youth unemployment, poor infrastructure and high cost of living.
Protestors clad in red – head and arm bands, held placards with inscriptions which read, ‘Stop the corruption in the judiciary,’ A nation without patriotism is a dead nation, We aim for waakye, they aim for V8s’ ‘Fix the Country, ‘A new constitution for the people’, among others.
The demonstration commenced at the Obra Spot and will end at the Black Star Square.
Blakk Rasta, a popular Radio Personality, said it is crucial for the world to know about Ghana’s declining economic growth and stunted development. He particularly took on leadership of the country, slamming them for the not being representative enough of its people.
He reiterated, “We are here to demonstrate, revealing we are not happy with the system, so the whole world know we have a leadership that is not representing us, we are sending our message clearly and they better start representing us”.
